The Evaluation Process

All Family Favorite Canine programs begin with an evaluation. This allows us to understand the dog, the household, and the goals before recommending any training path.

Rather than offering pre-set packages, we use the evaluation to determine the most appropriate structure for long-term success.

What the Evaluation Is

The evaluation is a structured assessment designed to gather information, observe behavior, and establish clear expectations for training.

  • The dog’s current behavior and temperament

  • The home environment and daily routines

  • Public behavior and neutrality (when applicable)

  • Owner goals and long-term expectations

What the Evaluation Is Not

The evaluation is not a lesson, a quick fix, or a guarantee of enrollment. Its purpose is clarity — for both the trainer and the owner.

After the Evaluation

Following the evaluation, a training recommendation is provided based on the dog’s needs, the household structure, and the desired outcome.

  • Program recommendation (if appropriate)

  • Clear expectations and scope of training

  • Timeline guidance based on behavior, not calendar weeks

  • Next steps for enrollment

Not every dog or situation is a fit for every program. Recommendations are made with long-term success in mind.
